ViDiLas - Innovation project funded by Eurostars
Tuesday, September 9, 2016
We are happy to announce a major innovation project, named ViDiLas that will receive funding from the European Commission under the Eurostars program. Eurostars focuses on international projects that result in fast market introduction of innovative products.
ViDiLas is an innovative and affordable visible laser based on second harmonic generation (SHG) of the light from an internally grating-stabilized tapered laser diode (GTLD). It enables the worldwide treatment of eye diseases by laser coagulation, including the two main causes of blindness worldwide (diabetic retinopathy (DR), age-related macular degeneration (AMD)) and as such is expected to highly impact the control of these conditions.
